1. Who We Are
Focus Forward is a structured after-school program operated in partnership with Title I schools across New York City. References to "we," "us," and "our" mean Focus Forward and its program staff. References to "you" mean the school administrator, family member, council member, or other visitor interacting with our website or program.
2. Information We Collect
We collect only the information needed to operate the program and respond to inquiries:
- Contact details you submit through our forms (name, email, role, school).
- Messages and inquiries you send us directly.
- Limited, school-authorized student information used solely for executive functioning screening, progress monitoring, and reporting.
- Standard website analytics (page views, device type, referring page) used in aggregate.
3. How We Use Information
Information is used to schedule consultations, deliver and document the Focus Forward program, generate principal reports, and meet Title I and school-district compliance requirements. We do not sell or rent personal information.
4. Student Data & FERPA
When Focus Forward operates inside a partner school, student records are handled under that school's FERPA-covered framework as a designated school official providing services. Records are accessed only by authorized program staff, stored securely, and shared only with the school of record.
5. Sharing of Information
We share information only with: (a) the partner school of record, (b) service providers who help us operate the program under written confidentiality terms, and (c) authorities when required by law. We never share student data with advertisers.
6. Data Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to protect personal information. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to limit access on a need-to-know basis and to retain data only as long as necessary.
7. Your Choices
You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of personal information you have submitted to us by emailing JessicaDeMarco@focusforwardnyc.com. Student record requests should be directed through your child's school.
8. Children's Privacy
Our website is intended for school administrators, council members, families, and partners — not for direct use by children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children through this website.
9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision. Continued use of the site after changes indicates acceptance of the updated policy.
